Baseball Recap: Burney Comes Up Short

Burney managed to slip by Weed the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Burney came up short against Weed on Tuesday, falling 14-5. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Kyle Noah was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Burney: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Hayden Bower was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Burney's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Weed beat Burney by a score of 7-6 later that day.
