Softball Recap: Lake Braddock Triumphs

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Lake Braddock nor West Potomac made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Bruins came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 7-2. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

MacKenzie Verdejo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). Verdejo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Addison Forde was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Natalie Chappell was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.

Lake Braddock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive games.

Lake Braddock's record now sits at 13-5. As for West Potomac, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Lake Braddock will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolverines: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
