Basketball Recap: Los Alamos Takes a Loss

Los Alamos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost to the Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes at home by a 41-27 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Elks/Elkettes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-29 on February 6th.

When it comes to explaining why Los Alamos lost, don't look at Sofia Trujillo. Despite the final result, she posted nine points.

Los Alamos' loss dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Pojoaque Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Los Alamos will head out to take on Moriarty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pojoaque Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Espanola Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Espanola Valley sitting on three straight wins and Pojoaque Valley on six.
