Basketball Recap: Normal West Takes a Loss

Normal West lost against MacArthur back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Normal West Wildcats took a blow against the MacArthur Generals, falling 58-23. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Normal West had strong showings from Riley Larkin, who posted four points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Zach Marvel, who had seven points and four steals. Those four steals gave Marvel a new career-high.

Normal West dropped their record down to 3-12 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for MacArthur, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Normal West didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-52 loss against Centennial on the 10th. As for MacArthur, they will challenge Decatur Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. MacArthur knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Decatur Eisenhower likes a good challenge.
