Bishop Neumann took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They skirted past the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays 3-2. The Cavaliers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bluejays, too.

The win didn't come easy: Ashland-Greenwood scored at least eight points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-18, 25-21, 19-25, 15-8.

Brooke Thiele paced Bishop Neumann's offense, picking up 18 kills. Thiele got some help from Ila Bolden and her 38 assists. Kyler Cada controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Ashland-Greenwood's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Drew Tonjes, who had three digs and three aces, and Jada Carson, who had 11 digs and three aces.

Bishop Neumann wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Centennial on the 30th. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they will face off against Waverly on Tuesday.
