Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Corvallis). They were the clear victors by a 20-9 margin over the Springfield Millers on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Spartans needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Annabel MacClary made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. MacClary was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Parker Doerr was incredible, firing off three triples, six RBI, and two runs while going 4-for-5. Maddie Gault was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Corvallis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

With the victory, Corvallis broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5. As for Springfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
