Basketball Game Preview: Sotomayor WILDCATS vs. Taft Raiders

The Sotomayor WILDCATS will challenge the Taft Raiders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sotomayor will be strutting in after a win while Taft will be coming in after a defeat.

Taft will be up against a hot Sotomayor team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Sotomayor walked away with a 48-38 victory over Stevens on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Taft was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 59-55 to Warren. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.

Sotomayor's win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Taft, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-22.

Everything came up roses for Sotomayor against Taft when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 71-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sotomayor since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
