Recap: River Valley Falcons vs. Roseville Tigers
This season hasn't been kind to The River Valley Falcons, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They received a tough blow last Friday as they fell 30-12 to Roseville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for River Valley in their matchups with Roseville: they've now lost five in a row.
River Valley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Adrian Walters, who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown, and Jackson Mcpeak who rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Roseville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kenny Mcclure led the charge by rushing for 49 yards and a touchdown. Roseville also got a significant boost from Aaron Salas, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.
River Valley's defeat was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Woodcreek and 7-1 Chico (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 65.6% over those games). As for Roseville, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
River Valley will head out on the road to face off against Antelope at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Antelope focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four last Friday. As for Roseville, they will be playing at home against Inderkum at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Inderkum will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
