Volleyball Recap: Duchesne Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Duchesne fell just short of Millard by a score of 3-2. Duchesne has struggled against Millard recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Duchesne sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 19-25, 25-22, 22-25, 17-15.

Their offense was headlined by Kira Grant and Jade Robinson, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from Breklyn Skewes and her 12 assists. Presli Young controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Duchesne's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Millard, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Duchesne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against South Summit on the 30th. As for Millard, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against North Summit on the 30th.
