Baseball Recap: Arlington Eagles vs. Lincoln Lutheran Warriors
Arlington extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 5-11 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Warriors when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Tim Halley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
As for Lincoln Lutheran, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games.
On Lincoln Lutheran's side, they saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Guerber, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Guerber is becoming a predictor of the Warriors' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't). Another was Colten Portsche, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
