Recap: University Cougars vs. Windermere Prep Lakers
After flying high against the Lake Brantley Patriots back in December of 2023, the University Cougars came back down to earth. University was outmatched by Windermere Prep on the road and fell 74-34. While losing is never fun, University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while Windermere Prep is ranked 96th).
Windermere Prep's win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zoe Sedo, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sedo has scored at least 25% of Windermere Prep's points. Another player making a difference was Eni Oyedeji, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
University has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Windermere Prep, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
University will head out on the road to face off against Boone at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Windermere Prep, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Eustis at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th. Eustis is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
