Volleyball Recap: Highlands Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Highlands was the 2-0 winner over Lafayette when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Bluebirds took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals on Saturday.

While Highlands was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by exactly two points. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Alexis Steinhauser and Liz Perkins, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Ava Muzumdar and her 16 assists. Perkins was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Highlands' loss ended a five-match streak of away wins and brought them to 20-9. As for Lafayette, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-13 record this season.

Highlands has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Boyd County on the 11th. As for Lafayette, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Whitley County on the 11th.
