Softball Recap: Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln and Marshfield, and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln kept the tradition alive. The Red Raiders walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Tigers on Tuesday. The Red Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln got a massive performance out of Gabby Neilitz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave Neilitz a new career-high in RBI (two). Annabelle Ross also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Neilitz wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Marshfield, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.
