Baseball Game Preview: Becker Bulldogs vs. Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm

The Becker Bulldogs will face off against the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Sauk Rapids-Rice will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Becker extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Bulldogs came out on top against Milaca by a score of 10-7.

Gerad Hanle was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brandon Hyrkas, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Becker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sauk Rapids-Rice). They never let Detroit Lakes get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Tuesday. The Storm not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 14, 2024 (when they won 13-0).

The win got Becker back to even at 5-5. As for Sauk Rapids-Rice, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5.
