Baseball Recap: Buckingham Extends Road Winning Streak to Ten

Buckingham strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Appomattox County Raiders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 back in March.

Kayne Wooten spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Walter, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Bickford, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Buckingham pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Appomattox County, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.

Buckingham didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-8 victory against Amherst County on the 21st. As for Appomattox County, they are taking a road trip to challenge William Campbell at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
