St. Thomas Aquinas came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Paul Laurence Dunbar Bulldogs. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

St. Thomas Aquinas' offense was headlined by Sydney Guerrier and Isabella Sangha, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Hailey Trebbien and her ten assists. Finally, Sangha was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Despite the loss, Paul Laurence Dunbar still got an impressive performance from Peyton Beatty, who had nine digs and three assists. Sloan Atkins also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

St. Thomas Aquinas' victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Paul Laurence Dunbar, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, St. Thomas Aquinas and Paul Laurence Dunbar will both be playing Knoxville Catholic the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Raiders will play them later in the day, at 8:30 p.m.
