It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Hardin ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Buna Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted against the Cougars since March 22, 2019.

Brayden Caldwell looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hardin saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kolten Bishop, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs. Another was Jayden Phelps, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one double.

Hardin is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Buna, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-14.
