Volleyball Recap: West Branch Takes a Loss

If West Branch was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Streetsboro on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors came up short against the Holy Name Green Wave on Monday, falling 3-0. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While West Branch was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Holy Name's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-18, 25-19.

West Branch's offense was headlined by Madilyn Hoopes and Audrey Ring, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Aislyn Ring and her 13 assists.

Leading Holy Name to victory were Avery Preisel and Isabella Dinya. Preisel had three digs and two aces, while Dinya had eight digs and three aces. Preisel is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

West Branch's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Holy Name, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-13.

West Branch does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Holy Name, they will take on Edgewood in a tournament on Wednesday.
