Basketball Recap: Yasmine Taylor's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jones over Latin

After flying high against Juarez on Tuesday, Jones came back down to earth. The Eagles took a hard 53-38 fall against the Latin Romans on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 41-33 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Jones lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Yasmine Taylor, who posted 11 points. Josie Check was another key player, putting up eight points.

Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Latin, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season.

Jones has already played their next matchup, a 53-22 loss against Streamwood on the 7th. As for Latin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-51 win against Morgan Park Academy on the 10th.
