Softball Recap: Hanson Memorial Takes a Loss

Hanson Memorial fell victim to Teurlings Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Rebels, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Tigers have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Onnie Doucet was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

In other batting news, Camren Rochel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Amelia Reynolds was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.

Hanson Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Teurlings Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 15-16.

Hanson Memorial didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-4 loss against Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy on the 14th. As for Teurlings Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-7 defeat against Central on the 14th.
