Eric Sondheimer of the Los Angeles Times is reporting that five-star Class of 2018 basketball prospect Bol Bol has enrolled at Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.).

That doesn't necessarily mean that Bol – son of the late Manute Bol – will be on the floor Friday when the Monarchs meet Trinity League rival St. John Bosco.

There are eligibility hurdles to clear and this could wind up resembling the situation a year ago when Marvin Bagley III enrolled at Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) in January 2016 and was forced to sit the remainder of the season.

Bol, a 6-foot-11 forward/center, is regarded as the No. 14 overall prospect in the Class of 2018 with Kansas and St. John's at the forefront of his recruitment. He previously attended Bishop Miege (Shawnee Mission, Kan.).

Mater Dei is 16-1 and ranked No. 7 in MaxPreps.com's High School Top 25.
