Baseball Game Preview: Catholic Central Irish vs. Southeastern Local Trojans

For the second straight game, Catholic Central will face off against Southeastern Local. The Irish will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Catholic Central comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Catholic Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Southeastern Local by a score of 14-13 on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (ten), the Irish still had to take the loss.

For Southeastern Local's part, Wade Shope was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. What's more, Shope posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Southeastern Local got a big performance out of Ian Truebenbach, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Eli Goodbar, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Catholic Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Southeastern Local, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-16.
