Basketball Recap: Curtis Baptist Falls Despite Big Games from Kingsly Shine and Brayden Husband

The Curtis Baptist Crusaders came up short against the Trinity Collegiate Titans on Friday and fell 51-38. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brayden Husband and Kingsly Shine certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Husband almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds, while Shine posted 11 points. Shine is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last four games he's played.

Among those leading the charge was Jy'Ell Preston, who went 7-for-9 en route to 15 points and seven boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in field goal percentage (78%). Another player making a difference was Garrison Copeland, who scored eight points and four steals.

Curtis Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Trinity Collegiate, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Curtis Baptist has already played their next contest, a 71-25 defeat against Aiken on the 6th. As for Trinity Collegiate, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 83-58 loss against Fort Walton Beach on the 6th.
