Baseball Recap: Sparta Find Success

Sparta's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Exeter Tigers 4-3. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Sparta's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Exeter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Sparta didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 loss against Ash Grove on the 11th. As for Exeter, they have also already played their next game, a 4-3 defeat against Galena on the 13th.
