Softball Game Preview: Mansfield Legacy Broncos vs. Guyer Wildcats

For the second straight game, Mansfield Legacy will face off against Guyer. The Broncos will square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mansfield Legacy 2.5, Guyer 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Mansfield Legacy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over Guyer.

Natalie Moreaux made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Ryleigh Stinson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Meredith Davidson, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.

Mansfield Legacy is on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 21 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Guyer, with the defeat, they broke their 14-game winning streak and moved their record to 26-4.
