Soccer Recap: The Academy Comes Up Short

The Academy lost against Forge Christian back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats lost 7-1 to the Fury. The Academy were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 6-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Keara Pogue, who's now up to three this season.

This is the second loss in a row for The Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-1 Peak to Peak (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 71.4% over those games). As for Forge Christian, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 3-2-2.

The Academy has already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Colorado Academy on the 15th. As for Forge Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Peak to Peak on the 15th.
