Basketball Recap: Quitman Has No Trouble Against Summerfield

Quitman hadn't done well against Summerfield recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The stars were shining brightly for the Quitman Wolverines in a 49-31 victory over the Summerfield Rebels. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolverines also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

The win made it two in a row for Quitman and bumps their season record up to 10-7. As for Summerfield, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-4.

Quitman won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cedar Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Creek will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Quitman surely won't give up without a fight. As for Summerfield, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Doyline at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Summerfield is facing Doyline at the right time seeing as Doyline is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
