Preview: Western SciTech Aztec Warrior vs. Berean Academy Eagles
The Western SciTech Aztec Warrior will square off against the Berean Academy Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Western SciTech sitting on four straight wins and Berean Academy on ten.
Western SciTech had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They strolled past Skyline Prep with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 37-20.
Meanwhile, Berean Academy can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 38-6 win over Ajo. 38 seems to be a good number for Berean Academy as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Among those leading the charge was Logan Sealey, who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Sealey is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last five games he's played. Jason Powell was in the mix as well, providing Berean Academy with two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Western SciTech to 7-1 and Berean Academy to 10-0.
Western SciTech ended up a good deal behind Berean Academy in their previous meeting back in September, losing 32-14. Can Western SciTech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
