Basketball Recap: Neuse Charter Comes Up Short

On Wednesday, the Neuse Charter Cougars lost to the Wake Prep Academy Guardians on the road by a 72-54 margin. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Neuse Charter lost, don't look at Klayton Tew. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points. The dominant performance gave Tew a new career-high in points. Donolyon Tyrell was another key player, putting up seven points and 12 rebounds.

Neuse Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Wake Prep Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Neuse Charter will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Oxford Prep at 4:30 p.m. on December 26th. As for Wake Prep Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Bunn at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
