Basketball Recap: Lake Brantley Takes a Loss

Lake Brantley played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Winter Springs Bears, falling 47-12. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Lake Brantley lost, don't look at Alana Taylor. Despite the final result, she posted six points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Winter Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jullianna Woodard, who put up nine points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Those seven boards gave Woodard a new career-high. Anaiyaa Deoleo was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Lake Brantley's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Winter Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Lake Brantley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 37-26 defeat against Oviedo on the 27th. Winter Springs has also already played their next contest, an 83-44 win against University on the 24th.
