Softball Recap: Assumption Gets the Win

Assumption had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Markesan Hornets a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

Assumption's victory bumped their record up to 17-6-1. As for Markesan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13-2 record this season.

Assumption will take on Auburndale on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Royals 2.8, the Apaches 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Markesan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
