Soccer Game Preview: Rochelle vs. Belvidere

The Rochelle Hubs will square off against the Belvidere Bucs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Rochelle is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was LaSalle-Peru who was credited with the victory on Monday. The Cavaliers got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Rochelle's two. While losing is never fun, Rochelle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 314th, while LaSalle-Peru are ranked 126th).

On Tuesday, Belvidere didn't have quite enough to beat Rockford East and fell 3-2. One thing that didn't help Belvidere's chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Santiago Herrejon.

Herrejon and Jordan Flores scored both of Belvidere's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Rochelle's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for Belvidere, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
