The Clay Panthers will take on the Eastern Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Eastern will be up against a hot Clay squad: the team just extended their winning streak to seven. The Panthers never let South Gallia get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Wednesday.

Clay gave Elin Shaw the start and clearly made the right call: she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave Shaw a new career-high.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eastern, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against Western on Wednesday as they made off with a 10-3 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Ashlynn Thomas 2027 made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Aedre Ault 2028 was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Makenzie Robertson 2027 was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Eastern always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Clay's win bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Eastern, their victory bumped their record up to 12-15.
Eastern's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Clay has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Eastern, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Clay keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?
