Basketball Game Preview: Milledgeville Missiles vs. Oregon Hawks

Milledgeville is 0-6 against Oregon since December of 2014 but things could change on Thursday. The Milledgeville Missiles will face off against the Oregon Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Milledgeville is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Monday. They took a 53-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lena-Winslow.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 58 points the game before, Oregon was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Lutheran, falling 54-25. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Crusaders are ranked 120th).

Milledgeville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Oregon, their loss dropped their record down to 13-15.

Milledgeville came up short against Oregon when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 49-38. Can Milledgeville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
