Softball Recap: Lake Fenton Makes It 14 in a Row at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lake Fenton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They beat the Goodrich Martians by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Mia Merrell (2027), who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Laureena Baehl (2027) was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Lake Fenton's victory was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Goodrich, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-7.
