The Duchesne Eagles will face off against the Summit Academy Bears at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Duchesne knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Summit Academy likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, Duchesne made easy work of North Summit and carried off a 12-4 victory.
Connor Karren made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Duchesne is 5-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-8 otherwise. Karren was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Summit Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Duchesne has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. It's a different story for Summit Academy, though, as they've only averaged .349. Will they be able to contain Duchesne's hitters?
Duchesne couldn't quite finish off Summit Academy in their previous matchup back in March and fell 9-7. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
