Basketball Recap: Easton Pugmire's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mountain Crest over Stansbury

Mountain Crest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-59 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stansbury Stallions. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stallions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Easton Pugmire, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 17 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jackson Branz, who shot 47% from the field en route to 18 points.

Mountain Crest now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Stansbury, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.
