Baseball Game Preview: Littlefield Wildcats vs. Shallowater Mustangs

Littlefield is 2-8 against Shallowater since June of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Shallowater will be up against a hot Littlefield team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Everything went the Wildcats' way against Dimmitt on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-3 win.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Shallowater, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Muleshoe on Thursday.

Shallowater pushed their record up to 21-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Littlefield, their victory bumped their record up to 19-7.
