Basketball Recap: Rivercrest Comes Up Short

Rivercrest lost against Bowie back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rivercrest Rebels were dealt a 59-17 loss at the hands of the Bowie Pirates. The Rebels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-4.

Despite the defeat, Rivercrest had strong showings from Diana Kelley, who posted eight points and eight boards, and Grace Cresswell, who had. That's the most rebounds Kelley has posted since back in December of 2024.

Even though they lost, Rivercrest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Rivercrest's loss dropped their record down to 11-21. As for Bowie, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a massive bump to their 21-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Maud the next time they take the court. Bowie will host Maud at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Rivercrest will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
