Softball Recap: Dekalb Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

DeKalb extended their postseason success on Friday against Hononegah. They beat the Indians by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-2. For the Barbs, this counts as revenge for the 4-1 win the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2019.

DeKalb pushed their record up to 18-15 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hononegah, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 28-5.

Looking ahead, DeKalb will square off against Huntley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Raiders will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Barbs surely won't give up without a fight. Hononegah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
