Softball Recap: Zephyrhills Comes Up Short

Zephyrhills lost against Sunlake back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Zephyrhills Bulldogs fell just short of the Sunlake Seahawks by a score of 4-3. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zephyrhills saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Rivera, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Another was Melanie Moreno, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Zephyrhills' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Sunlake, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

After both having extra time off, Zephyrhills and Land O' Lakes will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th. Zephyrhills is facing Land O' Lakes at the right time seeing as Land O' Lakes is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Sunlake will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wiregrass Ranch at 8:00 p.m. on March 25th.
