League recap: Mid Valley wins, gets boost in standings

Mid Valley was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in Lackawanna 2. The Spartans vanquished Holy Cross 40-0 earlier in the week.

Dunmore added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Old Forge, 21-16. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.

Dunmore's dynamic duo of Brandon Kujawski and Josh Zilla proved tough for the Devils to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kujawski threw for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns and Zilla had 82 yards receiving.

Jack Henzes' team's dynamic duo of Kujawski and Zilla proved to be unstoppable against Old Forge, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Kyle Carney was the best running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 130 yards as Honesdale bested Michael Schuback's team. Kevin Miller also contributed to the rushing game with 98 yards on the ground.

Miller provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Hornets beat Montrose. Miller's favorite target this week was Carney, who caught 2 passes for 59 yards.

Zilla was the best wideout in Lackawanna 2 this week as Dunmore defeated the Devils.

Kujawski put up the best numbers through the air as the Bucks defeated Old Forge.

6-foot-0 quarterback Chet Anuszewski of Lakeland is the league leader in passing yards this season with 513. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Zilla. The Dunmore star has 12 catches for 229 yards.

Riverside moved up to 453 from 496 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Vikings were able to move up by beating Susquehanna 13-9.
