Softball Recap: Jefferson County Patriots vs. Southeastern Panthers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Carter, Jefferson County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Southeastern Panthers 4-2.
Olivia Mottern spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since March 3rd.

At the plate, McKaylee Hobby was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Zoey Horton also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Jefferson County now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Southeastern, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.
Coming up, Jefferson County will head out to square off against Claiborne at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Southeastern, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Southeastern Panthers face off against Lakeway Christian Academy Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Lakeway Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Southeastern's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
