Football Recap: Duncan Comes Up Short

Duncan came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Guthrie Bluejays, falling 42-10. The Demons haven't had much luck with the Bluejays recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Daelon Rice was nothing short of spectacular for Guthrie: he rushed for 93 yards and two scores, and also threw for 100 yards and one touchdown. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Rice a new career-high. Guthrie also got a significant boost from Elijah Smith, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Duncan fell to 2-1. As for Guthrie, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Duncan will face off against Shawnee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Guthrie, they will take on Blanchard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
