Baseball Recap: Trinity Prep's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

Trinity Prep fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Orangewood Christian on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 5-4. The Saints were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 9-5.

Aiden Stillman was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.

Stillman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Braden Henderson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

With the loss, Trinity Prep broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-5. As for Orangewood Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.

Looking ahead, Trinity Prep will face off against Lake Highland Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orangewood Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-0 defeat against East River on the 3rd.
