Julien Simpson Turns in Season-Best Effort

On Thursday, North Mesquite had to settle for second even though Julien Simpson put up the best numbers he has all season. Simpson rushed for 177 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also caught a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 64 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

North Mesquite dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Simpson and North Mesquite will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on White at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.

Creekview Wins Eighth-Straight Thanks to Dre Richardson

Creekview picked up their eighth consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Dre Richardson. Richardson was unstoppable, rushing for 93 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.

Creekview pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Richardson and Creekview will venture away from home to take on West Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
