Basketball Recap: Eagle Pass Comes Up Short

Eagle Pass was the 41-40 winner over Cole when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell 48-35 to the Cougars on Tuesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cole found their leader in sophomore Avaya Brundidge, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 16 points and eight rebounds. Brundidge is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games she's played. Gianna Serrano was another key player, putting up two points along with seven assists and six boards.

Eagle Pass now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Cole, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Eagle Pass will venture away from home to face off against Poth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cole, they will head out to square off against Jourdanton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
