Baseball Recap: Mission Hills Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mission Hills, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Sage Creek Bobcats by a score of 7-4 on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Grizzlies: when they faced off against the Bobcats on Thursday, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Nate Sheriff looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Micah Mecucci was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Mission Hills' success: when he posts at least one home run the team is undefeated (and 6-11 when he doesn't). Dominic Davis was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Mission Hills moved to 9-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Sage Creek, they moved to 12-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Mission Hills will be playing at home against Del Norte at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sage Creek, they are taking a road trip to challenge San Pasqual at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats are facing the Golden Eagles at the right time seeing as the Golden Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
