Basketball Recap: Jersey Village Takes a Loss

Jersey Village was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Fort Bend Travis Tigers 60-30. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 843rd, while the Tigers are ranked 292nd).

Fort Bend Travis found their leader in sophomore Mackenzie Teuton, who went 6 for 9 on her way to 16 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for Teuton. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitchelle Okwueze, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Jersey Village's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Fort Bend Travis, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Jersey Village wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-43 loss against Shadow Creek on the 27th. As for Fort Bend Travis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-55 win against Cypress Lakes on the 27th.
