Volleyball Recap: Rocky Mountain Comes Up Short

Rocky Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Monarch Coyotes. The Lobos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Coyotes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Anya Rainbolt paced Rocky Mountain's offense, picking up eight kills. Rainbolt got some help from Abby Duran and her 18 assists. Duran was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Rocky Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Monarch, their record is now 10-3.

Rocky Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Regis Jesuit on the 10th. As for Monarch, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Dakota Ridge on the 10th.
